Once A Day Dynasty Play

Advice for New Realms

Since we’ve had some new players joining, a few things have come up that are helpful to know early on.

1. You don’t collect new resources during your founding year. The season “turns” aren’t the same as the daily turn that happens. You start with plenty of Gold and Food to get you through those turns, but if you spend it on something large, you’ll run out. You will collect more tomorrow, but worth knowing.

2. A lack of Gold will slow your growth and options. Claiming to the nearest forests or hills will allow you to build Mines or Lumber Camps that generate Gold for you. You’ll want at least a few of those early on.

3. Each town can build a Granary to increase your maximum food storage. If you’re wondering why you’re stuck at 50/50, you need to build more towns or more Granaries to keep your population growing.

4. Population and Gold determine your army size. You can only ever field 10% of your population in your military. So population is usually the limiting factor for how big your military can be. Gold can also limit how many companies you can recruit.

5. Dynasty is important, not an afterthought. It’s in the game’s name after all. If your dynasty dies off without an heir, thats game over. You start a new realm from scratch. The two ways to lose is to have your dynasty die off or have all your towns and capital conquered. Marriage is the way you keep your line alive. You can click “Arrange a Marriage” by anyone of age and unwed. That will arrange a marriage within your realm. You can also interact in the Realms tab or by clicking on another realm to offer someone for marriage. If they stay in your court, that means they stay in your realm and are playable by you. If they leave your court, they don’t count as an heir for you anymore and instead are playable by that other realm (this is still valuable to secure alliances, especially with larger realms).
